Good news for those of you who like High School Musical, and Vanessa Hudgens!?

Disney has stated that they will not drop Vanessa from the upcoming movie "High School Musical 3". This is of course good news for anyone who loves the High School Musical series, and/or Vanessa Hudgens. However, they have yet to make a statement if she will be allowed to appear in any other Disney shows/movies, though it's likely she will be able to.

Just thought I'd let you guys know.

If you're wondering why they would've dropped her in the first place, you would, if you read the news. Nude photo's of her have recently surfaced on the internet.

If they accept it, just have them write you a little note in case you get audited. Do some research and find out how much that piano used is going for, and write that in as a write off when tax time comes again.
why dont you pull up a listing of non profit organizations in the LA area and donations to those are usually great tax write offs, even a less fortunate or beginning church...a school gets their own breaks ..give someone who needs a break one while you get one for yourself!

Pick a song that relates to the character you are auditioning for, and is suitable for your range of voice. Try to stay away from overused songs, songs that you are uncomfortable with or have trouble relating to, and songs that are unsuitable for your vocal range (because you will end up sounding inferior if you attempt notes out of your range and cannot carry it off).
Well it depends on if u r an alto, soprano, tenor, bass? Add more details and maybe I can help. If you want like a silly ballad, try somewhere that鈥檚 green from little shop of horrors. That鈥檚 my fav to audition with because you can put feeling into it and show them that you can act also! But tell me what kind of voice u have and I鈥檒l try to help
You should always audition in the style that the musical you're auditioning for is in.

Rarely should you audition with a song from that musical - but if you can't find a song with the same style...then do that.

NEVER pick a piece that they've heard a billion times.

Chances are someone better than you as done it and they will compare you to that person. (Somewhere over The rainbow... HOW MANY TIMES HAS THAT BEEN DONE!??!)

Also you should never pick something that has been done in the past 5 years on broadway or is currently on broadway. But you're probably auditioning for a high school show. SO just stay away from the overly popular stuff... like anything from Wicked, Les Mis, Phantom, Cats ect.

A good trick to use for auditions is to find a song from another show that is by the same composer.

It all depends on your range and what type of character you're auditioning for.

1. to previous posters, in theatre we never say the "GL" phrase, always say "Break A Leg."

2. Sing a song that is in the same style as they show you are auditioning for. You didn't say what it was or I could possibly give you some suggestions.

3. Learn as much as you can about the character role you want, and be the character on stage, whether you are sitting or standing your turn or not.

4. Although I love "Wicked" I think it will be a little too popular to audition with just yet (no pun intended on the "popular" bit).

Just using bands or artist that you like and own records by? Mine are all rock but its whatever you are in to really. I have used surnames of solo artists but fore names are acceptable if you are stuck and i have dropped the "The" from some band names so that is also acceptable. i have also tried to use well known bands as much as possible. My parents don't want me to go to a musical school?

K so i understand where my parents are coming from when they say they don't want me to do this because it is going to be hard and they are worried about me making a living . i get it, so im trying to compromise i said i would do a double major with musical theatre and nursing so i can still have a job that will let me act if Broadway doesn't work out. i have the intention of going to new york eventually either after college or for college. but my parents just think this whole musical theatre is a stage and i am going to regret it, they don't understand its my passion and i love it what can i say to them to help them understand, also where are some good colleges that will allow me to get my 'fall back education" also?

There are lots of really good liberal arts schools, which would be the best way to go to get a "fall back". Your parents are worries, and rightly so, even with talent and lots of training (a must if you want to make a living at this), it also take a lot of luck. It is a very hard life, and will be filled with let downs and disapointments. It can also be very rewarding and a hell of a lot of fun. Good luck
If you want to be any kind of actor, you'll need some kind of marketable skills to earn a living when you're not acting. No one -- and that means -no one- -- works full time in the NY theatre for all of their lives.

At some point, you'll be doing temp work or waiting tables or working retail. (There are actors who work regionally and never stop working, but their number is tiny compared to the vast number who aren't working full time.) It's better to have a background in something you enjoy and can do to keep body and soul together when you're not working on stage.

I applaud you for realizing you'll need something to fall back on, and a double major does seem a good compromise, but remember that even if you're staggeringly talented, you'll face a break-in period before people get to know you, and even then, you're not going to work in the theatre full time forever. I know plenty of wonderful actors who can't get arrested and who have to work a "real" job.

By all means, persevere and follow your dream, but stay somewhat clear-eyed, too.
